"Cyberbracelet"

Picture
Imagine how school is in the future. In 50 years things will be completely different and also the media. Cell phones and computers will be highly developed and will together with the internet play one of the most important roles in our everyday life. If you are looking at our children today with their Ipods and their internet lives you are able to regard a sad and frightening process. But we have to face the facts that this is a process that can’t be stopped but which can be regulated.

That’s why some other students and I created a concept for a so called “cyberbracelet” which will be a everyday companion of a student in the year 2050. With this the students have the opportunity to phone, they have access to the internet, the can save information, the can write on it on a virtual 3D screen and they can communicate with each other and the teacher via email. They will get it from the school when they are sent to school and the students will or shall also wear outside school as a surrogate for cell phones and computers.

The sense of this concept is that the technology in 2050 will be that high that the abuse of it is too high and also too dangerous for children. For this reasons they should be trained from the very beginning to live and act responsible in the cyber world by wearing and working with this “cyberbracelet”. Of course the teachers can take hold of the “cyberbarcelet” in the classrooms so that nobody will use the private functions only the school functions like writing on it and using the                                                                                              books which are saved on it.

The bracelet will also check the blood pressure, heartbeat and what they bought with it in the school cafeteria so that the students get help from health, medial and food advisors. In the school there will also be areas where the students are not able to use the “cyberbracelet” in order to be able and to learn to socialize not only through the media. Examples for that would be the schoolyard and the sports area.

It is a daring concept but we think it does justice to the challenges of the 21st century!
